Wk 13 — Art Activity — Portfolio Research

These consist of different careers that I am currently interested in, but all fall under helping others.

California Therapy Service

• In this company, my goal will be to act as a therapist. As I plan to do anything that focuses on helping others with their mental state, becoming a therapist is one way in becoming a person of help. Not only will I have to learn to cope with my own emotions, I will have to be able to help others with theirs. Providing help from a therapist point of view will essentially help mental disorder rates go down.

Department of Social Service

• This company specializes in helping people, especially with those in need. This could be for housing, education, or even financial disbursements. This agency will also help me help others. It would be step one of what I’d do to get further in social community problems. With this, I could use my want to help others, so that the agency stays away from corruption.

US Social Security Administration

• Although I’d consider this company a temporary placement for myself, going for it will help establishment my knowledge on social work. I would learn how the government works with certain important factors such as the US social security system. This, although not my dream, will too give me an opportunity to make sure people do not experience any corruption coming towards their way.

William Julius

• William Julius is a Harvard professor who focuses his teaching on social work. As a sociologist, he hopes to inspire others out there to join his profession. An easy way for me to contact him would be by either sending him an email, or going to him personally. This could help me with my interest in social work.

• It might be weird that I chose to include Jane Addams as she is already dead. This link takes you to Debra Michal’s autobiography about Jane Addams. This is important for me to include because she is an example as to what the point of social activism is.

Angelo Mclain

• Angelo Mclain is a criminal justice law enforcer specializing in criminology. He has worked his way in order to help understand the actions of others. This is where my ultimate passion comes in. I recently switched my major to psychology after attempting criminology. Both specialize in learning how the function of the brain will influence someone to commit certain actions.

Using a website is an important way for being to discover who and how I work as a person. It is one organized way to see all of my work and experience without having to use a resume for everything. It will allow for people to find me while all I do is promote the website. It is much efficient to find what you’re looking for this way.
